Justification by Faith

²¹ But now apart ^[a]from the Law ^(A)the righteousness of God has been revealed, being ^(B)witnessed by the ^[b]Law and the Prophets, ²² but it is the ^(C)righteousness of God through ^(D)faith ^(E)in Jesus Christ for ^(F)all those ^[c]who believe; for ^(G)there is no distinction, ²³ for all ^[d](H)have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified as a gift ^(I)by His grace through ^(J)the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,

²² But now having been ^(A)freed from sin and ^(B)enslaved to God, you ^[a]derive your ^[b](C)benefit, ^[c]resulting in sanctification, and ^(D)the outcome, eternal life. ²³ For the wages of ^(E)sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is ^(F)eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁶ For while we were still ^(A)helpless, ^(B)at the right time ^(C)Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ For one will hardly die for a righteous person; ^[a]though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die. ⁸ But God ^(D)demonstrates ^(E)His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, ^(F)Christ died for us.

⁸ But what does it say? “^(A)The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, ^9 [a]that ^(B)if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and ^(C)believe in your heart that ^(D)God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; ¹⁰ for with the heart a person believes, ^[b]resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, ^[c]resulting in salvation. ¹¹ For the Scripture says, “^(E)Whoever believes in Him will not be ^[d]put to shame.” ¹² For ^(F)there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is ^(G)Lord of ^(H)all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; ¹³ for “^(I)Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
