Psalm 59:9-17
New American Standard Bible
9 Because of [a]his (A)strength I will watch for You,
For God is my (B)refuge.
10 [b]My God (C)in His faithfulness will meet me;
God will let me (D)look triumphantly upon my enemies.
11 Do not kill them, (E)or my people will forget;
[c](F)Scatter them by Your power and bring them down,
Lord, (G)our shield.
12 [d]On account of the (H)sin of their mouths and the words of their lips,
May they even be (I)caught in their pride,
And on account of (J)curses and lies which they tell.
13 [e](K)Destroy them in wrath, [f]destroy them so that they will no longer exist;
So that people may (L)know that God [g]rules in Jacob,
To the ends of the earth. Selah
14 They (M)return at evening, they howl like a dog,
And prowl around the city.
15 They (N)wander about [h]for food
And [i]murmur if they are not satisfied.
16 But as for me, I will (O)sing of Your strength;
Yes, I will (P)joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the (Q)morning,
For You have been my (R)refuge
And a (S)place of refuge on the day of my distress.
17 (T)My strength, I will sing praises to You;
For God is my (U)refuge, the [j]God who shows me favor.
