The Gift of His Peace

25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But (A)the [a]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will (B)send in My name, (C)He will teach you all things, and bring to your (D)remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 (E)Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 You have heard Me (F)say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because [b]I said, (G)‘I am going to the Father,’ for (H)My Father is greater than I.

29 “And (I)now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, (J)for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has (K)nothing in Me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father, and (L)as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.

The True Vine

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. (M)Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [c]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear (N)more fruit. (O)You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. (P)Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much (Q)fruit; for without Me you can do (R)nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, (S)he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words (T)abide in you, (U)you[d] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (V)By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; (W)so you will be My disciples.

Love and Joy Perfected

“As the Father (X)loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 (Y)If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and (Z)that your joy may be full. 12 (AA)This is My (AB)commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 (AC)Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 (AD)You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, (AE)for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 (AF)You did not choose Me, but I chose you and (AG)appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father (AH)in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
