Capture of the City of Rabbah
20 In the spring[a] when kings march out to war,(A) Joab led the army and destroyed the Ammonites’ land. He came to Rabbah and besieged it, but David remained in Jerusalem.(B) Joab attacked Rabbah and demolished it.

2 Therefore look, the days are coming(A)—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
when I will make the shout of battle(B) heard
against Rabbah(C) of the Ammonites.
It will become a desolate mound,
and its surrounding villages will be set on fire.
Israel will dispossess their dispossessors,
says the Lord.
