²⁹ so that at noon you will grope as a blind person gropes in the dark.^(A) You will not be successful in anything you do. You will only be oppressed and robbed continually, and no one will help you.^(B)

4 Again, I observed all the acts of oppression being done under the sun.^(A) Look at the tears of those who are oppressed; they have no one to comfort them. Power is with those who oppress them; they have no one to comfort them.

³ This is what the Lord says: Administer justice and righteousness.^(A) Rescue the victim of robbery from his oppressor.^(B) Don’t exploit or brutalize the resident alien, the fatherless, or the widow.^(C) Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.
