⁸ Therefore, the wrath of the Lord was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he made them an object of terror, horror, and mockery,^[a](A) as you see with your own eyes.

⁴ I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh^(A) son of Hezekiah, the king of Judah, for what he did in Jerusalem.

⁹ I will make them an object of horror^(A) and a disaster to all the kingdoms of the earth, an example for disgrace, scorn, ridicule,^(B) and cursing, wherever I have banished them.^(C)

¹⁸ I will pursue them with sword, famine, and plague. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth—a curse and a desolation, an object of scorn and a disgrace among all the nations^(A) where I have banished them.^(B)

¹⁷ “Therefore, this is what the Lord says: You have not obeyed me by proclaiming freedom, each for his fellow Hebrew and for his neighbor.^(A) I hereby proclaim freedom for you^(B)—this is the Lord’s declaration—to the sword, to plague, and to famine! I will make you a horror to all the earth’s kingdoms.^(C)
