Version Information

Mam, Comitancillo Central (mvc), one of thirty Mayan languages still spoken today. These subsistent farmers, about 120,000, live on small tracks farms in the Northern highlands of Guatemala on the border with Mexico. For years they tried to hide their language even though most spoke only a little Spanish. But today the Mam people are proud of their language.
