Wisdom 15:17
Being a human, a person can construct only a dead thing with lawless hands. These people are better than the things that they worship, for they have life and the things that they worship do not.
For being mortal himself, he formeth a dead thing with his wicked hands. For he is better than they whom he worshippeth, because he indeed hath lived, though he were mortal, but they never.
Every person will sooner or later die, but anything he makes with his wicked hands is dead from the start. He himself is better than what he worships. He at least is alive, but what he worships is not, and never has been.
he is mortal, and what he makes with lawless hands is dead. For he is better than the things he worships; he at least lives, but never his idols.
People are mortal, and what they make with lawless hands is dead; for they are better than the objects they worship, since they have life, but the idols never had.
People are mortal, and what they make with lawless hands is dead; for they are better than the objects they worship, since they have life, but the idols never had.
People are mortal, and what they make with lawless hands is dead; for they are better than the objects they worship, since they have life, but the idols never had.
People are mortal, and what they make with lawless hands is dead; for they are better than the objects they worship, since they have life, but the idols never had.
He is mortal, and what he makes with lawless hands is dead, for he is better than the objects he worships, since he has life, but they never have.
He is mortal, and what he makes with lawless hands is dead, for he is better than the objects he worships, since he has life, but they never have.
For since he is deadly (or mortal), by wicked hands he maketh a dead idol; for he is better than these gods, which he worshippeth; for soothly he lived, when he was deadly (or mortal), but they lived never. [When forsooth he be deadly, the dead he maketh with wicked hands; better forsooth is he than these, that he praiseth; for he forsooth lived, when he was deadly, they forsooth never.]
