The dreams that had so bothered them had foretold that this was to happen. And so they perished knowing full well why they were suffering.
For the visions that troubled them foreshewed these things, lest they should perish and not know why they suffered these evils.
They knew why they were dying, because their horrible dreams had told them.
For the dreams that disturbed them had proclaimed this beforehand, lest they perish unaware of why they endured such evil.
For the dreams that disturbed them had forewarned them of this so that they would not perish without knowing the reason for their suffering.
