No fire gave them any light, nor did the stars’ light shine brightly enough to illumine that horrible night.
And no power of fire could give them light, neither could the bright flames of the stars enlighten that horrible night.
No fire had power to give them light, and the brilliant stars could do nothing to relieve that deathly darkness.
No fire had force enough to give light, nor did the flaming brilliance of the stars succeed in lighting up that gloomy night.
No fire had sufficient intensity to provide them with light, nor was the blazing brilliance of the stars sufficient to illumine the somber night.
And no power of fire was able to give light, nor did the brilliant flames of the stars avail to illumine that hateful night.
And no power of fire was able to give light, nor did the brilliant flames of the stars avail to illumine that hateful night.
