Sirach 8:11
Don’t rise out of your seat in the presence of insolent persons, because they might set a trap for what you say.
Let not the discourse of the ancients escape thee, for they have learned of their fathers:
You should not get up and walk out on someone who is insolent. He might twist your words and use them against you.
Do not give ground before scoundrels; it will set them in ambush against you.
Do not let the insolent bring you to your feet, or they may lie in ambush against your words.
Do not let the insolent bring you to your feet, or they may lie in ambush against your words.
Do not let the insolent bring you to your feet, or they may lie in ambush against your words.
Do not let the insolent bring you to your feet, or they may lie in ambush against your words.
Do not get up and leave an insolent fellow, lest he lie in ambush against your words.
Do not get up and leave an insolent fellow, lest he lie in ambush against your words.
Stand thou not against the face of a man full of despising [or the face of the strifeful]; lest he sit as an espyer to thy mouth.
