Sirach 47:7
David destroyed his enemies on every side, and he despised the Philistines, his adversaries; he shattered their power, which has never recovered.
So in ten thousand did he glorify him, and praised him in the blessings of the Lord, in offering to him a crown of glory:
He wiped out all his enemies and permanently crushed the Philistines, so that they never again became a threat.
and subdued the enemy on every side. He campaigned against the hostile Philistines and shattered their power till our own day.
For he wiped out his enemies on every side, and annihilated his adversaries the Philistines; he crushed their power to our own day.
