David called upon the Lord Most High, and the Lord gave strength to his strong arm to do away with a mighty warrior, to assert the power of his people.
In lifting up his hand, with the stone in the sling he beat down the boasting of Goliath:
He prayed to the Lord, the Most High, and was given the strength to kill that famous soldier, so that the nations would have respect for the power of his people.
For he had called upon the Most High God, who gave strength to his right arm To defeat the skilled warrior and establish the might of his people.
For he called on the Most High God, who gave strength to his right arm to strike down that mighty warrior and demonstrate the power of his people.
For he called on the Lord, the Most High, and he gave strength to his right arm to strike down a mighty warrior, and to exalt the power of his people.
