Sirach 2:12
How terrible it will be for cowardly hearts and idle hands and for a sinner who sets foot upon two paths.
For who hath continued in his commandment, and hath been forsaken? or who hath called upon him, and he despised him?
But those who lose their nerve are doomed—all those sinners who try to have it both ways!
Woe to timid hearts and drooping hands, to the sinner who walks a double path!
Woe to timid hearts and to slack hands, and to the sinner who walks a double path!
Woe to timid hearts and to slack hands, and to the sinner who walks a double path!
Woe to timid hearts and to slack hands, and to the sinner who walks a double path!
Woe to timid hearts and to slack hands, and to the sinner who walks a double path!
Woe to timid hearts and to slack hands, and to the sinner who walks along two ways!
Woe to timid hearts and to slack hands, and to the sinner who walks along two ways!
Woe to the double in heart, and with cursed lips, and mis-doing hands; and to a sinner entering into the land by two ways. [Woe to the double in heart, and to the lips of the hideously guilting, and to the hands evil-doing; and to the sinner going into the earth two ways.]
