Don’t wish for a multitude of worthless children, and don’t be glad about sons and daughters if they are ungodly.
Rejoice not in ungodly children, if they be multiplied: neither be delighted in them, if the fear of God be not with them.
A large family is nothing to be desired if the children are worthless. Godless children are nothing to be proud of.
Do not yearn for worthless children, or rejoice in wicked offspring.
Do not desire a brood of unprofitable children, and take no joy in offspring who are godless.
Do not desire a multitude of worthless children, and do not rejoice in ungodly offspring.
