Wealth isn’t good for a mean person. What use is money to a begrudging person?
Riches are not comely for a covetous man and a niggard, and what should an envious man do with gold?
It isn't right for someone who is selfish to be rich. What use is money to a stingy person?
Wealth is not appropriate for the mean-spirited; to misers, what use is gold?
Wealth serves no purpose for the stingy man; of what use are riches to the covetous?
Riches are inappropriate for a small-minded person; and of what use is wealth to a miser?
Riches are inappropriate for a small-minded person; and of what use is wealth to a miser?
Riches are inappropriate for a small-minded person; and of what use is wealth to a miser?
Riches are inappropriate for the small-minded, and of what use is wealth to misers?
Riches are not seemly for a stingy man; and of what use is property to an envious man?

Chattel, that is, riches, is without reason to a covetous man, and hard niggard (or stingy or miserly); and whereto is gold to an envious man? [To the covetous man, and hard, without reason is substance; and to an envious man, whereto gold?]
