Psalm 129:1
“Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth”—may Israel now say—
A Song of Ascents. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth up, Let Israel now say,
A Song of Ascents. “Many times they have persecuted me (Israel) from my youth,” Let Israel now say,
Many a time and much have they afflicted me from my youth up—let Israel now say—
A Song of degrees. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
A song of ascents. Since my youth they have often attacked me— let Israel say—
From youth, people have constantly attacked me— let Israel now repeat!—
A song of ascents: Since I was young they have often attacked me — let Isra’el repeat it —
(A song for worship.) Since the time I was young, enemies have often attacked! Let everyone in Israel say:
A Song of degrees. Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth—oh let Israel say—
Out of the depths I have cried to thee, O Lord:
A song for going up to the Temple. All my life enemies have attacked me. Say it again, Israel.
A song to sing as we climb. Since I was young, my enemies have often attacked me. Israel's people now answer:
Greatly they have afflicted me from my youth— let Israel say—

A song ·for going up to worship [of ascents; C perhaps sung while traveling to Jerusalem to celebrate an annual religious festival like Passover]. ·They have treated me badly all my life [L Many are my foes from my youth]. (Let Israel ·repeat this [L say].)
1 He admonisheth the Church to rejoice though it be afflicted. 4 For by the righteous Lord it shall be delivered. 6 And the enemies for all their glorious show, shall suddenly be destroyed. A song of degrees. They have oftentimes afflicted me from my youth (may Israel now say)
A song for going up to worship. “From the time I was young, people have attacked me …” (Israel should repeat this.)
Israel, tell us how your enemies have persecuted you ever since you were young.
A song of ascents. Since my youth they have often attacked me— let Israel say—
A song for going up to worship. They have treated me badly all my life. (Let Israel repeat this.)

A Song of Ascents. “Many times they have assailed me from my youth up,” Let Israel now say,
A song of ascents. “Too often they have attacked me from my youth.” Let Israel say,
Persecuted from my earliest youth (Israel is speaking),
“They’ve kicked me around ever since I was young” —this is how Israel tells it— “They’ve kicked me around ever since I was young, but they never could keep me down. Their plowmen plowed long furrows up and down my back; But God wouldn’t put up with it, he sticks with us. Then God ripped the harnesses of the evil plowmen to shreds.”
A Song of Ascents. “Often they have afflicted me from my youth,” may Israel now say,
A song for going up to worship. “From the time I was young, people have attacked me . . .” (Israel should repeat this.)
A song of ascents. Viciously have they attacked me from my youth, let Israel say now.
“Many times they have attacked me from my youth up,” Let Israel say,
“Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up,” Let Israel now say,
A song of ascents. They have greatly oppressed me from my youth— let Israel say—
A song for going up to worship. They have treated me badly all my life. (Let Israel repeat this.)
A song of ascents. “Since my youth they have often attacked me,” let Israel say.
A song for those who go up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord. Here is what Israel should say. “My enemies have treated me badly ever since I was a young nation.
“They have greatly oppressed me from my youth,” let Israel say;
A song of ascents. ‘They have greatly oppressed me from my youth,’ let Israel say;
A Song of Ascents. “Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth,” Let Israel now say—
“They have made it hard for me many times since I was young,” let Israel now say.
A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me. Let all Israel repeat this:

A song for those journeying to worship. “This is not the first time my enemies assaulted me; they have often attacked me since I was young.” So let Israel now proclaim,
A Song of Ascents. Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say,
The song of degrees. Israel say now; Oft they have fought against me from my youth. (Let Israel say now; they have often fought against me from my youth.)
