And He smote His enemies in the hinder parts, and laid upon them a perpetual reproach.
And he smote his adversaries backward: He put them to a perpetual reproach.
He drove His enemies backward; He subjected them to lasting shame and dishonor.
And He smote His adversaries in the back [as they fled]; He put them to lasting shame and reproach.
And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.
God beat back his foes; he made them an everlasting disgrace.
He struck his foes, driving them back and putting them to perpetual shame.
God scattered his enemies and made them ashamed forever.
And he smote his adversaries in the hinder part, and put them to everlasting reproach.
He forced his enemies to turn back defeated. He brought them shame that will last forever.
And he put his adversaries to rout; he put them to everlasting shame.

Suddenly the Lord was up on his feet like someone roused from deep sleep, shouting like a drunken warrior. He hit his enemies hard, sent them running, yelping, not daring to look back. He disqualified Joseph as leader, told Ephraim he didn’t have what it takes, And chose the Tribe of Judah instead, Mount Zion, which he loves so much. He built his sanctuary there, resplendent, solid and lasting as the earth itself. Then he chose David, his servant, handpicked him from his work in the sheep pens. One day he was caring for the ewes and their lambs, the next day God had him shepherding Jacob, his people Israel, his prize possession. His good heart made him a good shepherd; he guided the people wisely and well.
He routed His enemies back, and He made them a perpetual reproach.
He struck his enemies from behind and disgraced them forever.
He put his foes to flight; everlasting shame he dealt them.
He drove His adversaries backward; He put on them an everlasting reproach.
He struck down his enemies and disgraced them forever.

He beat back those who hated Him. And He put them to shame forever.
He routed his enemies and sent them to eternal shame.
