If thou hast done foolishly in exalting thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, Or if thou hast thought evil, Lay thy hand upon thy mouth.
If you have foolishly exalted yourself, Or if you have plotted evil, put your hand on your mouth.
If you have done foolishly in exalting yourself, or if you have thought evil, lay your hand upon your mouth.
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
If you have been foolish by exalting yourself or if you’ve been scheming, put your hand over your mouth.
If you’ve been foolish and arrogant, if you’ve been scheming, put your hand to your mouth,
If you have been boorish, exalting yourself, or if you have been scheming, lay your hand on your mouth.
If you are foolishly bragging or planning something evil, then stop it now!
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, [lay] the hand upon thy mouth.
There is that hath appeared a fool after he was lifted up on high: for if he had understood, he would have laid his hand upon his mouth.
If you have been foolish enough to become proud and make plans against other people, stop and think about what you are doing.
You may be foolish and too proud of yourself. You may have ideas to do evil things. If that is true, stop yourself! Do not say a word!
If you have acted like a fool by exalting yourself, or if you have been scheming, put your hand over your mouth,

If you are such a godless fool as to honor yourself, or if you scheme, you had better put your hand over your mouth.
If you have been foolish enough to be arrogant and plan evil, stop and think!
If you have been foolish by exalting yourself or if you’ve been scheming, put your hand over your mouth.

If you’re dumb enough to call attention to yourself by offending people and making rude gestures, Don’t be surprised if someone bloodies your nose. Churned milk turns into butter; riled emotions turn into fist fights.
If you have been foolish in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, put your hand on your mouth.

If you have done foolishly by exalting yourself or if you have planned evil, put your hand over your mouth!
“Do you do foolish things? Do you think you are better than others? Do you plan evil? If you do, put your hand over your mouth and stop talking!
“If you play the fool and exalt yourself, or if you plan evil, clap your hand over your mouth!

He that appeareth a fool, after that he is raised [up] on high; for if he had understood, he had set (his) hand on his mouth. (Now, if thou hath been a fool, and hath raised up thyself on high, and hath imagined evil; then set thy hand upon thy mouth, and be silent.)
