Then one of them, who was a lawyer, asked Him a question, tempting Him and saying,

One of them, a lawyer [an expert in Mosaic Law], asked Jesus a question, to test Him:

and one of them who was a Torah expert asked a sh’eilah to trap him:
One of them was an expert in the Jewish Law. So he tried to test Jesus by asking,
And one of them, a lawyer, demanded, tempting him, and saying,
And one of them, a Law-expert, asked Him— testing Him—
And one of them, a doctor of the law, asking him, tempting him:
Then one of them, an expert in the Law of Moses, asked Jesus a question to test him.

One Pharisee, who was an expert on the law of Moses, asked Jesus this question to ·test [trap] him:
And one of them, which was an expounder of the Law, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
One of them, an expert in Moses’ Teachings, tested Jesus by asking,
and one of them, a teacher of the Law, tried to trap him with a question.
And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question to test Him:
One Pharisee was an expert in the law of Moses. That Pharisee asked Jesus a question to test him.

When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees they came up to him in a body, and one of them, an expert in the Law, put this test-question: “Master, what are we to consider the Law’s greatest commandment?”
And one of them, who was an interpreter of the law, asked him a question, tempting him and saying,

but not the Pharisees! When they heard that he had routed the Sadducees with his reply, they thought up a fresh question of their own to ask him. One of them, a lawyer, spoke up:
When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: “Teacher, which command in God’s Law is the most important?”
One of them, who was a lawyer, tested Him by asking Him,
and one of them, an expert in the law, wanted to test him, and asked,
One of them, an expert in Moses’ Teachings, tested Yeshua by asking,
and one of them [a scholar of the law] tested him by asking,
One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him,
One Pharisee, who was an expert on the law of Moses, asked Jesus this question to test him:

One of them was an authority on the law. So he tested Jesus with a question.

A proud religious law-keeper who knew the Law tried to trap Jesus. He said,

One of them, a lawyer, put him on the spot with this question.
And one of them, a Baal Torah (learned Torah scholar, a Ben Torah), tried to trip up Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach with a she’elah (question):
And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, to test him.
And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, to test him.
And testing Him, one of them, a lawyer, asked,
A legal expert thought of one that would certainly stump Him.
One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.
One of them was a man who taught God's law. He asked Jesus a question to try him out.
And one of them, a teacher of the law, asked Jesus, and tempted him, [And one of them, a teacher of the law, asked Jesus, tempting him,]
and one of them, a lawyer, did question, tempting him, and saying,
