And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way; for divers of them came from afar.”

About this time it happened again that a large crowd collected and had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples over to him and said, “My heart goes out to this crowd; they have been with me three days now and they have no food left. They have stuck with me for three days, and now they have nothing to eat. If I send them home hungry, they’ll faint along the way—some of them have come a long distance.”

and if I let them go [and if I leave them] fasting into their houses, they shall fail in the way; for some of them came from far.
