Others said, “It is Elijah,” and others said, “It is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”
But others said, It is Elijah. And others said, It is a prophet, even as one of the prophets.
But others were saying, “He is Elijah!” And others were saying, “It is a prophet, like one of the prophets [of old].”
[But] others kept saying, It is Elijah! And others said, It is a prophet, like one of the prophets [of old].
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
But others said, “He’s Elijah.” Still others said, “He’s a prophet, like one of the prophets from long ago.”
Others were saying, “He is Elijah.” Still others were saying, “He is a prophet like one of the ancient prophets.”
Others said, “It is Eliyahu!” and still others, “He is a prophet, like one of the old prophets.”
Others thought he was Elijah or some other prophet who had lived long ago.
And others said, It is Elias; and others said, It is a prophet, as one of the prophets.
And others were saying that “He is Elijah”. And others were saying that “He is a prophet like one of the [former] prophets”.
And others said: It is Elias. But others said: It is a prophet, as one of the prophets.
Other people said, “He is Elijah.” And others said, “He is a prophet. He is like the prophets who lived long ago.”
Other people said, ‘This man is Elijah.’ And other people said, ‘He is a prophet. He is like one of God's prophets who lived a long time ago.’
But others were saying, “He is Elijah.” Still others were saying, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old.”
But others said, “He is Elijah.” And others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old.”

Others said, “He is Elijah [C a great OT prophet (1 Kin. 17), who was expected to return in the end times (Mal. 4:5)].” Other people said, “Jesus is a prophet, like the prophets who lived long ago.”
Others said, It is Elijah, and some said, It is a Prophet, or as one of those Prophets.
Others said, “He is Elijah.” Still others said, “He is a prophet like one of the other prophets.”
Others, however, said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago.”
But others said, “He’s Elijah.” Still others said, “He’s a prophet—like one of the prophets.”
Others said, “He is Elijah.” Other people said, “Jesus is a prophet. He is like the prophets who lived long ago.”

“All this came to the ears of king Herod, for Jesus’ reputation was spreading, and people were saying that John the Baptist had risen from the dead, and that was why he was showing such miraculous powers. Others maintained that he was Elijah, and others that he was one of the prophets of the old days come back again. But when Herod heard of all this, he said, “It must be John whom I beheaded, risen from the dead!”
Others said, It is Elijah. And others said, It is the prophet or one of the prophets.
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

Others thought Jesus was Elijah the ancient prophet, now returned to life again; still others claimed he was a new prophet like the great ones of the past.
Others said, “No, it’s Elijah.” Others said, “He’s a prophet, just like one of the old-time prophets.”
But others said, “He is Elijah.” And yet others said, “He is the Prophet, or like one of the prophets.”
But others were saying, “He is Elijah.” Still others were saying, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old.”

Others (disagreeing): No, this Jesus is Elijah, returned to work on the earth. And still others said He was another of the prophets.

Other people said, `It is Elijah.' Others said, `He is a prophet like the prophets of God who lived long ago.'
Others said, That it is Elias; but others said, That it is a prophet, as one of the prophets.
