Letter of Jeremiah 49

So how can one not grasp that they aren’t gods? They can’t save themselves from war or other disasters.
How then can one fail to see that these are not gods, for they cannot save themselves from war or calamity?
Since they are made of wood and overlaid with gold and silver, it will afterward be known that they are false.
How then can one fail to see that these are not gods, for they cannot save themselves from war or calamity?
How therefore owe (or ought) those to be deemed, that they be gods, which neither deliver themselves from battle, neither deliver themselves from evils? [Therefore how owe they for to be feeled, or deemed, for they be gods, which neither deliver them from battle, neither deliver them from evil things?]
