As for the gold they wear beautifully, the idols won’t shine unless someone else wipes away the rust. They didn’t have any feeling when they were made.
From this you will know that they are not gods; so do not fear them.
As for the gold that they wear for beauty, it will not shine unless someone wipes off the tarnish, for even when they were being cast, they did not feel it.
From this you will know that they are not gods; so do not fear them.
Wherefore know ye, that they be not gods; therefore dread ye not them. [Whereof know ye, for they be not gods; therefore ye shall not dread them.]
