The punishment of your iniquity will be accomplished and completed, O Daughter of Zion; [the Lord] will no more carry you away or keep you in exile. But He will inspect and punish your iniquity and guilt, O Daughter of Edom; He will uncover your sins.
Your ·punishment [or iniquity] is complete, ·Jerusalem [L daughter of Zion; C the location of the Temple]. He will not send you into ·captivity again [exile]. But the Lord will punish the ·sins [iniquity] of Edom; he will ·uncover [expose] your ·evil [sin].
People of Zion, the time for you to be punished will come to an end. The Lord won’t keep you away from your land any longer. But he will punish your sin, people of Edom. He will show everyone the evil things you have done.
Viciously, daughter Zion, your iniquity has been punished. That is done; your exile is over. Daughter Edom, on the other hand, is a different story: you’ll be called to account for your sins and uncovered accordingly.
Thou daughter of Zion, thy wickedness is [ful]filled; he shall not add more, that he make thee to pass over (again into captivity); thou daughter of Edom, he shall visit thy wickedness, he shall uncover thy sins (O daughter of Edom, he shall punish thy wickedness, he shall uncover thy sins).
