On the second day, Holofernes led out his entire cavalry in full view of the Israelites who were in Bethulia.
Now Holofernes, in going round about, found that the fountains which supplied them with water, ran through an aqueduct without the city on the south side: and he commanded their aqueduct to he cut off.
The next day Holofernes led out his entire cavalry so that the Israelites in Bethulia could see them.

Certainly Holofernes, the while he went about by compass, found that the well, that flowed into the water conduit of (the) men of Israel, was (ad)dressed (or directed) at the south part without the city, and he commanded their water conduit to be cut asunder [or to be hewn down].
