Job 9:32
For He is not a man as I am, that I should answer Him and we should come together in judgment.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, That we should come together in judgment.
“For God is not a [mere] man, as I am, that I may answer Him, That we may go to court and judgment together.
For [God] is not a [mere] man, as I am, that I should answer Him, that we should come together in court.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
God is not a man like me—someone I could answer— so that we could come together in court.
“For he is not merely human like me; there is no answer that I could give him if we were to come together in court.
God isn’t a mere human like me. I can’t put him on trial.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him; that we should come together in judgment.
For I shall not answer a man that is like myself: nor one that may be heard with me equally in judgment.
God is not a human like me, so I cannot argue with him. I cannot take him to court.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
[“L For] God is not human like me, ·so I cannot [L that I could] answer him. ·We cannot meet each other in court [L …that we could go together into judgment].
For he is not a man as I am, that I should answer him, if we come together to judgment.
A human like me cannot answer God, ‘Let’s take our case to court.’
If God were human, I could answer him; we could go to court to decide our quarrel.
For He is not a man like me, that I can answer Him, that we can take each other to court.
“God is not a man like me. So I cannot answer him. We cannot meet each other in court.
He’s not a man like me, so that I can answer him, or that we can enter into litigation with one another.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together unto judgment.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
“For he is not a mortal like me that I can answer him, that we can come to trial together.
“And I cannot defend myself, for you are no mere man as I am. If you were, then we could discuss it fairly, but there is no umpire between us, no middle man, no mediator to bring us together.
“God and I are not equals; I can’t bring a case against him. We’ll never enter a courtroom as peers. How I wish we had an arbitrator to step in and let me get on with life— To break God’s death grip on me, to free me from this terror so I could breathe again. Then I’d speak up and state my case boldly. As things stand, there is no way I can do it.”
“For He is not a man as I am, that I should answer Him, and we should come together in judgment.
A human like me cannot answer Eloah, ‘Let’s take our case to court.’
For he is not a man like myself, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment.
“For He is not a man as I am that I may answer Him, That we may go to court together.
“God is not human like me, so I cannot answer him. We cannot meet each other in court.
For he is not a human being like I am, that I might answer him, that we might come together in judgment.
“God isn’t a mere human being like me. I can’t answer him. We can’t take each other to court.
“He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him, that we might confront each other in court.
‘He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him, that we might confront each other in court.
“For He is not a man, as I am, That I may answer Him, And that we should go to court together.
For He is not a man, as I am, that I may answer Him, that we might go to trial together.
“God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial.
For he is not a mortal, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For he is not a mortal, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For he is not a mortal, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For he is not a mortal, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For He is not an ish, as I am, that I should answer Him, and we should come together in mishpat (in the court).
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.
For He is not a human being, like I am, that I could answer Him, that we could go to court together.
The Lord . . . He is no man, like me, whom I could answer, no human being whom I could face in court.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, that we should come together in judgment.
Truly I shall not answer a man, that is like me; neither that may be heard evenly with me in doom. (Truly I shall not be able to answer him, for he is not a man who is like me; nor is he someone who can equally be heard with me in court, or at the judgement.)
But if a man like myself -- I answer him, We come together into judgment.
