“If we attempt to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
If one assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If we dare to converse with you, will you be impatient [or offended]? But who can restrain himself from speaking?
If we venture to converse with you, will you be offended? Yet who can restrain himself from speaking?
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
If one tries to answer you, will you be annoyed? But who can hold words back?
“If one tries to speak to you, will you mind? Yet who could keep from speaking?
Please be patient and listen to what I have to say.
If a word were essayed to thee, wouldest thou be grieved? But who can refrain from speaking?
If we begin to speak to thee, perhaps thou wilt take it ill, but who can withhold the words he hath conceived?
“I must say something. Would it upset you if I speak?
“If one ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? Yet who can keep from speaking?
“If one ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? Yet who can keep from speaking?
“If someone tried to speak with you, would you be ·upset [or discouraged]? I cannot keep from speaking.
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If someone tries to talk to you, will you become impatient? But who can keep from talking?
Job, will you be annoyed if I speak? I can't keep quiet any longer.
Should anyone try to speak with you when you are exhausted? Yet who can keep from speaking?
“If someone tried to speak with you, would you be upset? I cannot keep from speaking.
“Will you get offended if somebody tries to talk to you? Who can keep from speaking at a time like this?

If someone would test a word with you, would you be offended? But who can refrain from speaking?
“Will you let me say a word? For who could keep from speaking out?
Then Eliphaz from Teman spoke up: “Would you mind if I said something to you? Under the circumstances it’s hard to keep quiet. You yourself have done this plenty of times, spoken words that clarify, encouraged those who were about to quit. Your words have put stumbling people on their feet, put fresh hope in people about to collapse. But now you’re the one in trouble—you’re hurting! You’ve been hit hard and you’re reeling from the blow. But shouldn’t your devout life give you confidence now? Shouldn’t your exemplary life give you hope?
“If one attempts a word with you, will you be impatient? But who can keep from speaking?
“If someone tries to talk to you, will you become impatient? But who can keep from talking?
If someone attempts a word with you, would you mind? How can anyone refrain from speaking?
“If one ventures a word with you, will you become impatient? But who can refrain from speaking?
“If someone tried to speak with you, would you be upset? I cannot keep from speaking.
“If someone should attempt a word with you, will you be impatient? But who can refrain from speaking?
“Job, suppose someone tries to talk to you. Will that make you uneasy? I can’t keep from speaking up.
“If someone ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? But who can keep from speaking?
‘If someone ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? But who can keep from speaking?
If one attempts a word with you, will you become weary? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If one speaks with you, will you want him to stop? But who can keep from speaking?
“Will you be patient and let me say a word? For who could keep from speaking out?
“If one ventures a word with you, will you be offended? But who can keep from speaking?
‘If one ventures a word with you, will you be offended? But who can keep from speaking?
‘If one ventures a word with you, will you be offended? But who can keep from speaking?

If we attempt a davar with thee, wilt thou be offended? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If one ventures a word with you, will you be offended? Yet who can keep from speaking?

Eliphaz: Could you bear it if someone were to speak? Ah, but who can hold his tongue in such a situation?
“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
If we begin to speak to thee, in hap thou shalt take it heavily (perhaps thou shalt take it personally); but who may hold (back) a word (once) conceived?
Hath one tried a word with thee? -- Thou art weary! And to keep in words who is able?
