Job 39:13
“Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? Or wings and feathers unto the ostrich,
The wings of the ostrich wave proudly; But are they the pinions and plumage of love?
“The [flightless] wings of the ostrich wave joyously; With the pinion (shackles, fetters) and plumage of love,
The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, [but] are they the pinions and plumage of love?
Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully, but are her feathers and plumage like the stork’s?
The ostrich’s wings flap joyously, but her wings and plumage are like a stork.
“An ostrich’s wings beat wildly, although its pinions lack plumage.
An ostrich proudly flaps her wings, but not because she loves her young.
The wing of the ostrich beats joyously—But is it the stork's pinion and plumage?
The wing of the ostrich is like the wings of the heron, and of the hawk.
“An ostrich gets excited and flaps its wings, but it cannot fly. Its wings and feathers are not like the wings of a stork.
When an ostrich is happy, it waves its wings. But it cannot use its wings to fly, as a stork can do.
The wings of a screeching ostrich flap wildly, but they do not have feathers and plumage like a stork’s.
“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the pinions and plumage of love?
“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the pinions and plumage of love?
“The wings of the ostrich flap happily, but ·they are not like the feathers of the stork [or its pinions lack plumage].
Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band to labor in the furrow? or will he plow the valleys after thee?
“Does the ostrich flap its wings in joy, or do its wings lack feathers?
How fast the wings of an ostrich beat! But no ostrich can fly like a stork.
The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully, but are her feathers and plumage like the stork’s?
“The wings of the ostrich flap happily. But the ostrich’s wings are not as beautiful as the feathers of the stork.
“The wings of the ostrich flap joyously, but aren’t its pinions and feathers like the stork?
¶ Didst thou give beautiful wings unto the peacock, or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

“The ostriches’ wings flap joyously But are they the pinion and plumage of a stork?
“The wings of the female ostrich flap— are they the pinions of the stork or the falcon?
“The ostrich flaps her wings grandly but has no true motherly love.
“The ostrich flaps her wings futilely— all those beautiful feathers, but useless! She lays her eggs on the hard ground, leaves them there in the dirt, exposed to the weather, Not caring that they might get stepped on and cracked or trampled by some wild animal. She’s negligent with her young, as if they weren’t even hers. She cares nothing about anything. She wasn’t created very smart, that’s for sure, wasn’t given her share of good sense. But when she runs, oh, how she runs, laughing, leaving horse and rider in the dust.
“Did you give the beautiful wings to the peacocks? Or wings and feathers to the ostrich,
“Does the ostrich flap its wings in joy, or do its wings lack feathers?
The wings of the ostrich flap away; her plumage is lacking in feathers.
“The wings of the ostrich flap joyously, With the pinion and feathers of love,
“The ostriches’ wings flap joyously With the pinion and plumage of love,
“The wings of an ostrich are ineffectual, since its pinions and its plumage are scanty.
“The wings of the ostrich flap happily, but they are not like the feathers of the stork.
“The wings of the ostrich flap with joy, but are they the pinions and plumage of a stork?
“The wings of ostriches flap with joy. But they can’t compare with the wings and feathers of storks.
“The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully, though they cannot compare with the wings and feathers of the stork.
‘The wings of the ostrich flap joyfully, though they cannot compare with the wings and feathers of the stork.
“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, But are her wings and pinions like the kindly stork’s?
“The wings of the ostrich wave with joy, but are they the wings of love?
“The ostrich flaps her wings grandly, but they are no match for the feathers of the stork.
‘The ostrich’s wings flap wildly, though its pinions lack plumage.
‘The ostrich’s wings flap wildly, though its pinions lack plumage.
“The ostrich’s wings flap wildly, though its pinions lack plumage.

Joyfully flapping are the wings of the ostrich, but are her wings and feathers like the khasidah (stork)?

The ostrich flaps her wings, and the ringing joy is heard. But her wings and pinions are not like a stork’s. She cannot fly.

The feather of an ostrich is like the feathers of a gyrfalcon, and of an hawk;
The wing of the rattling ones exulteth, Whether the pinion of the ostrich or hawk.
