“Even today is my complaint bitter; my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
Even to-day is my complaint rebellious: My stroke is heavier than my groaning.
“Even today my complaint is contentious; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.

Today I complain bitterly, because God has been cruel and made me suffer.

Now also my words are in bitterness, and the hand of my scourge is more grievous than my mourning.

Job replied: “I’m not letting up—I’m standing my ground. My complaint is legitimate. God has no right to treat me like this— it isn’t fair! If I knew where on earth to find him, I’d go straight to him. I’d lay my case before him face-to-face, give him all my arguments firsthand. I’d find out exactly what he’s thinking, discover what’s going on in his head. Do you think he’d dismiss me or bully me? No, he’d take me seriously. He’d see a straight-living man standing before him; my Judge would acquit me for good of all charges.
“Today also my complaint is bitter; my hand is heavy because of my groaning.
“My complaint is bitter again today. I try hard to control my sighing.
Today especially my complaint is bitter, his hand is heavy upon me in my groanings.
“Even today my complaint is rebellion; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.
“My complaint is still bitter today. I groan because God’s heavy hand is on me.
“Even today my complaint is still bitter; his hand is heavy despite my groaning.
“Even today my problems are more than I can handle. In spite of my groans, God’s hand is heavy on me.
“Even today my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
‘Even today my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
“Even today my complaint is bitter; My hand is listless because of my groaning.
“Even today my complaining is bitter. His hand is heavy even when I cry inside myself.
“My complaint today is still a bitter one, and I try hard not to groan aloud.
“Today also my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy despite my groaning.
‘Today also my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy despite my groaning.
‘Today also my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy despite my groaning.
“Today also my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy despite my groaning.
Even hayom (today) is my complaint bitter; my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
“Today also my complaint is bitter, his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
“Today also my complaint is bitter, his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
“Even today my complaint is rebellious; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.
Job: So once again you are telling me my complaint amounts to rebellion, that the heavy hand I feel upon me is smothering my groans?
“Even today my complaint is rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
Now also my word is in bitterness, and the hand of my wound is aggrieved on my wailing. (Now my word is bitter, and the hand causing my pain is heavy upon me in my wailing.)
Also -- to-day [is] my complaint bitter, My hand hath been heavy because of my sighing.
