Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will remove the hedge, and it will ·be burned [be purged/destroyed; or become a pasture]. I will break down the stone wall, and it will be ·walked [trampled; C referring to the Assyrian conquest in 722 bc].
“Well now, let me tell you what I’ll do to my vineyard: I’ll tear down its fence and let it go to ruin. I’ll knock down the gate and let it be trampled. I’ll turn it into a patch of weeds, untended, uncared for— thistles and thorns will take over. I’ll give orders to the clouds: ‘Don’t rain on that vineyard, ever!’”
And now then; I will tell you now what I will do to my kerem (vineyard): I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be grazed upon; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trampled down;
I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, what I’ve determined to do to My vineyard: I’m going to take away its protective fence and let the deer, raccoons, and rabbits devour it. I’ll break down its wall, let the vines be eaten and trampled.
And now I shall show to you, what I shall do to my vinery. I shall take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be into ravishing (and it shall be eaten up); I shall cast down the wall thereof, and it shall be into defouling;
