For before the harvest, when the blossom is over And the flower becomes a ripening grape, He will cut off the sprigs [without buds] with pruning knives, And [He will] remove and cut away the spreading branches.
Then something terrible will happen. Earlier in the year, the flowers bloomed and the new grapes formed buds and began to grow. But before the crop is harvested, the enemy will come and cut the plants. They will break the vines and throw them away.
The time will come, after the flowers have bloomed and before the harvest, when ·new grapes will be budding and growing [the flower becomes a ripening grape]. ·The enemy [or The Lord; L He] will cut the plants with pruning knives; he will cut down the ·vines [branches; tendrils] and take them away.

For here’s what God told me: “I’m not going to say anything, but simply look on from where I live, Quiet as warmth that comes from the sun, silent as dew during harvest.” And then, just before harvest, after the blossom has turned into a maturing grape, He’ll step in and prune back the new shoots, ruthlessly hack off all the growing branches. He’ll leave them piled on the ground for birds and animals to feed on— Fodder for the summering birds, fodder for the wintering animals.

For before katzir (harvest), when the bud is perfect, and the boser (sour grape, ripening grape) is ripening in the flower, He shall both cut off the zalzallim (shoots) with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the netishot (tendrils, branches).
For even before the harvest begins, when the buds blossom and the flowers make way for the ripening grapes, God will cut back their shoots with pruning shears, lop off and clear away the spreading branches.
For why all flowered out before harvest, and unripe perfection burgeoned; and the little branches thereof shall be cut down with scythes, and those that be left, shall be cut away (shall be cut off, and cleared away).
