Hebrews 10:33
partly while ye were being made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions, and partly while ye became companions of those who were so used.
partly, being made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, becoming partakers with them that were so used.
sometimes by being made a spectacle, publicly exposed to insults and distress, and sometimes by becoming companions with those who were so treated.
Sometimes being yourselves a gazingstock, publicly exposed to insults and abuse and distress, and sometimes claiming fellowship and making common cause with others who were so treated.
Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
Sometimes you were exposed to insults and abuse in public. Other times you became partners with those who were treated that way.
Sometimes you were publicly disgraced and persecuted, while at other times you stood loyally by those who were treated this way.
Sometimes you were abused and mistreated in public, and at other times you shared in the sufferings of others.
on the one hand, when ye were made a spectacle both in reproaches and afflictions; and on the other, when ye became partakers with those who were passing through them.
on this hand being made-a-spectacle by both reproaches and afflictions, and on this hand having become partners of the ones living in this manner.
And on the one hand indeed, by reproaches and tribulations, were made a gazingstock; and on the other, became companions of them that were used in such sort.
Sometimes people said hateful things to you and mistreated you in public. And sometimes you helped others who were being treated that same way.
sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated.
sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated.
Sometimes you were ·hurt and attacked before crowds of people [L exposed to public shame/ridicule and persecution/oppression], and sometimes you shared with those who were being treated that way.
Partly while ye were made a gazing stock both by reproaches and afflictions, and partly while ye became companions of them which were so tossed to and fro.
At times you were publicly insulted and mistreated. At times you associated with people who were treated this way.
You were at times publicly insulted and mistreated, and at other times you were ready to join those who were being treated in this way.
Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way.
Sometimes you were hurt and persecuted before crowds of people. And sometimes you shared with those who were being treated that way.
At times you were made a public spectacle by means of insults and persecutions, while at other times you associated with people who were treated this way.
You must never forget those past days when you had received the light and went through such a great and painful struggle. It was partly because everyone’s eye was on you as you endured harsh words and hard experiences, partly because you threw in your lot with those who suffered much the same. You sympathised with those who were put in prison and you were cheerful when your own goods were confiscated, for you knew that you had a much more solid and lasting treasure in Heaven. Don’t throw away your trust now—it carries with it a rich reward in the world to come. Patient endurance is what you need if, after doing God’s will, you are to receive what he has promised. ‘For yet a little while, and he who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him’.
on the one hand ye were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and on the other ye became companions of those that were so used.
Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
sometimes being publicly exposed both to insults and to afflictions, and sometimes becoming sharers with those who were treated in this way.
Sometimes you were laughed at and beaten, and sometimes you watched and sympathized with others suffering the same things.
Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion. It won’t be long now, he’s on the way; he’ll show up most any minute. But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust; if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy. But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.
