When ·the king [L Pharaoh] heard ·what Moses had done [L of the thing], he ·tried [sought] to kill him. But Moses ·ran away [fled] from ·the king [L Pharaoh] and went to live in the land of Midian [C probably in the eastern Sinai peninsula or in western Arabia]. There he sat down near a well.
When the king heard about what had happened, he tried to have Moses killed, but Moses fled and went to live in the land of Midian. One day, when Moses was sitting by a well, seven daughters of Jethro, the priest of Midian, came to draw water and fill the troughs for their father's sheep and goats.
And sure enough, Pharaoh heard what had happened, and he tried to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in the land of Midian. When Moses arrived in Midian, he sat down beside a well.
And Pharaoh heard this word, and sought to slay Moses, which fled from his face, and dwelled in the land of Midian; and he sat beside a well. (And when Pharaoh heard of this, he sought to kill Moses, and so Moses fled from him, and lived in the land of Midian.)
