Ecclesiastes 9:16
Then said I, “Wisdom is better than strength”; nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
But I say that wisdom is better than strength, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heeded.
But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heeded.
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
So I thought, Wisdom is better than might, but the wisdom of commoners is despised and their words aren’t heeded.
So, although I say that wisdom is better than strength, nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised; nobody pays attention to what he says.
So I decided that wisdom is better than strength. Yet if you are poor, no one pays any attention to you, no matter how smart you are.
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength; but the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
And I said that wisdom is better than strength: how then is the wisdom of the poor man slighted, and his words not heard?
But I still say that wisdom is better than strength. They forgot about the poor man’s wisdom, and the people stopped listening to what he said. But I still believe that wisdom is better.
But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man's wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.
But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man's wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.
I ·still think [L said that] wisdom is better than strength. But ·those people forgot about the poor man’s wisdom [L the wisdom of the poor wise man was despised], and they stopped listening to what he said.
Then said I, Better is wisdom than strength: yet the wisdom of the poor is despised, and his words are not heard.
So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength,” even though that poor person’s wisdom was despised, and no one listened to what he said.
I have always said that wisdom is better than strength, but no one thinks of the poor as wise or pays any attention to what they say.
And I said, “Wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are not heeded.”
I still think wisdom is better than strength. But those people forgot about the poor man’s wisdom. And they stopped listening to what he said.
So I concluded, “Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless, the wisdom of the poor is rejected—his words are never heard.”
Then I said, Wisdom is better than strength: even though the poor man’s knowledge is despised, and his words are not heard.
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
So I concluded that wisdom is better than might, yet the wisdom of the poor is despised, and his words are not heard.
Then I realized that though wisdom is better than strength, nevertheless, if the wise man is poor, he will be despised, and what he says will not be appreciated.
All the same, I still say that wisdom is better than muscle, even though the wise poor man was treated with contempt and soon forgotten.
Then I said, “Wisdom is better than strength; yet the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.”
So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength,” even though that poor person’s wisdom was despised, and no one listened to what he said.
Though I had said, “Wisdom is better than force,” yet the wisdom of the poor man is despised and his words go unheeded.
So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor man is despised and his words are not heeded.
I still think wisdom is better than strength. But those people forgot about the poor man’s wisdom and stopped listening to what he said.
So I concluded that wisdom is better than might, but a poor man’s wisdom is despised; no one ever listens to his advice.
So I said, “It’s better to be wise than to be powerful.” But people look down on the poor man’s wisdom. No one pays any attention to what he says.
So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.
So I said, ‘Wisdom is better than strength.’ But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.
Then I said: “Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, And his words are not heard.
So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor man is hated and his words are not carried out.
So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long.
So I said, “Wisdom is better than might; yet the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.”
So I said, ‘Wisdom is better than might; yet the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.’
So I said, ‘Wisdom is better than might; yet the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.’
So I said, “Wisdom is better than might; yet the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.”
Then said I, Chochmah is better than gevurah (strength); nevertheless the poor man’s chochmah is despised, and his devarim are not heard.
But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.
But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heeded.
So I said: “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heeded.
So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor is despised; nobody listens to their wise counsel.
Then I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
And I said, that wisdom is better than strength; how therefore is the wisdom of a poor man despised, and his words be not heard? (And I have always said, that wisdom is better than strength; and so why is the wisdom of a poor man despised, and his words not listened to?)
And I said, `Better [is] wisdom than might, and the wisdom of the poor is despised, and his words are not heard.' --
