Ecclesiastes 1:9
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done, is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing under the sun.
That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
That which has been is that which will be [again], And that which has been done is that which will be done again. So there is nothing new under the sun.
The thing that has been—it is what will be again, and that which has been done is that which will be done again; and there is nothing new under the sun.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Whatever has happened—that’s what will happen again; whatever has occurred—that’s what will occur again. There’s nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.
Everything that happens has happened before; nothing is new, nothing under the sun.
That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which will be done: and there is nothing new under the sun.
What is it that hath been? the same thing that shall be. What is it that hath been done? the same that shall be done.
All things continue the way they have been since the beginning. The same things will be done that have always been done. There is nothing new in this life.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.
·All things continue the way they have been since the beginning [L Whatever is will be again]. What has happened will happen again; there is nothing new ·here on earth [L under the sun; v. 3].
What is it that hath been? that that shall be: and what is it that hath been done? that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Whatever has happened before will happen again. Whatever has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun.
What has happened before will happen again. What has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new in the whole world.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
All things continue the way they have been since the beginning. The same things will be done that have always been done. There is nothing new here on earth.
Whatever has happened, will happen again; whatever has been done, will be done again. There is nothing new on earth.
¶ The thing that has been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing under the sun.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
What has been—it is what will be; what has been done—it is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
everything is unutterably weary and tiresome. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied; no matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself. Nothing is truly new; it has all been done or said before. What can you point to that is new? How do you know it didn’t exist long ages ago? We don’t remember what happened in those former times, and in the future generations no one will remember what we have done back here.
Smoke, nothing but smoke. [That’s what the Quester says.] There’s nothing to anything—it’s all smoke. What’s there to show for a lifetime of work, a lifetime of working your fingers to the bone? One generation goes its way, the next one arrives, but nothing changes—it’s business as usual for old planet earth. The sun comes up and the sun goes down, then does it again, and again—the same old round. The wind blows south, the wind blows north. Around and around and around it blows, blowing this way, then that—the whirling, erratic wind. All the rivers flow into the sea, but the sea never fills up. The rivers keep flowing to the same old place, and then start all over and do it again. Everything’s boring, utterly boring— no one can find any meaning in it. Boring to the eye, boring to the ear. What was will be again, what happened will happen again. There’s nothing new on this earth. Year after year it’s the same old thing. Does someone call out, “Hey, this is new”? Don’t get excited—it’s the same old story. Nobody remembers what happened yesterday. And the things that will happen tomorrow? Nobody’ll remember them either. Don’t count on being remembered.
What has been is the same as what will be, and what has been done is the same as what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
Whatever has happened before will happen again. Whatever has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun.
What has been, that will be; what has been done, that will be done. Nothing is new under the sun!
That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.
All things continue the way they have been since the beginning. What has happened will happen again; there is nothing new here on earth.
What exists now is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing truly new on earth.
Everything that has ever been will come back again. Everything that has ever been done will be done again. Nothing is new on earth.
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be. And what has been done is what will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.
History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done; and there is nothing chadash under the shemesh.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; and there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; and there is nothing new under the sun.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun.
What has been, that will be; what has been done, that will be done. Nothing is new under the sun; the future only repeats the past.
That which has been is that which shall be; and that which has been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
What is that thing that was, that that shall come? What is that thing that is made, that that shall be made? Nothing under the sun is new, (What is that thing that was, but that which shall come again? What is that thing that is made, but that which shall be made later? Nothing is new under the sun,)
What [is] that which hath been? it [is] that which is, and what [is] that which hath been done? it [is] that which is done, and there is not an entirely new thing under the sun.
