The Amalekites did not respect God. They attacked you when you were weak and tired. They killed all your people who were slow and walking behind everyone else.

They had no fear of God, and so they attacked you from the rear when you were tired and exhausted, and killed all who were straggling behind.
They met you along the way and attacked all your stragglers from behind when you were tired and weary. They did not fear God.
You were tired and worn out. And they met you on the road. They killed all those lagging behind. They were not afraid of God.
how when you were very tired and weary, they lay in wait for you on the road and eliminated everyone who was lagging behind. They had no fear of God.

Remember that they fought with you and struck down those who were faint and weary and lagging behind, with no respect or fear of God.
Don’t forget what Amalek did to you on the road after you left Egypt, how he attacked you when you were tired, barely able to put one foot in front of another, mercilessly cut off your stragglers, and had no regard for God. When God, your God, gives you rest from all the enemies that surround you in the inheritance-land God, your God, is giving you to possess, you are to wipe the name of Amalek from off the Earth. Don’t forget!
