and over these, three presidents, of whom Daniel was first, that the princes might give account unto them and the king should have no damage.

and to set over them three main officers to whom they would report so that the king wouldn’t have to be bothered with too much. One of these main officers was Daniel.
Daryavesh decided to set over the kingdom 120 viceroys to rule throughout the entire kingdom,
In order to make sure that his government was run properly, Darius put three other officials in charge of the governors. One of these officials was Daniel.
and over these, three presidents—of whom Daniel was one—to whom these satraps should render account, and that the king should suffer no loss.
And three princes over them, of whom Daniel was one: that the governors might give an account to them, and the king might have no trouble.
He chose three men to rule over the 120 satraps. Daniel was one of the three supervisors. The king put these men in this position to keep anyone from cheating him.
He also chose three other men to be his officers. He gave them authority over the 120 rulers. The king wanted to be sure that they were working well. Daniel was one of the three officers.
Above them there would be three supervisors (Daniel was one of them) to whom these satraps would report, so that the king would not suffer any loss.
and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss.

He chose three men as ·supervisors [presidents; heads] over those ·governors [L satraps], and Daniel was one of the ·supervisors [presidents; heads]. The ·supervisors [presidents; heads] were to ensure that the ·governors did not try to cheat the king [L king would not be troubled/disturbed].
And over these three rulers, (of whom Daniel was one) that the governors might give accompts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
Over these satraps were three officials. Daniel was one of these officials. The satraps were to report to these three officials so that the king wouldn’t be cheated.
In addition, he chose Daniel and two others to supervise the governors and to look after the king's interests.
and over them three administrators, including Daniel. These satraps would be accountable to them so that the king would not be defrauded.
And he chose three men as supervisors over those 120 governors. Daniel was one of these three supervisors. The king set up these men so that he would not be cheated.
along with three chief administrators from them, one of which was Daniel. The regional authorities reported to these three administrators, so that the king would experience no losses.

The governors were accountable to three presidents (Daniel was one of them) so the king could administer the kingdom efficiently.
Darius reorganized his kingdom. He appointed one hundred twenty governors to administer all the parts of his realm. Over them were three vice-regents, one of whom was Daniel. The governors reported to the vice-regents, who made sure that everything was in order for the king. But Daniel, brimming with spirit and intelligence, so completely outclassed the other vice-regents and governors that the king decided to put him in charge of the whole kingdom.

Darius decided to appoint over his entire kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps.

It pleased Darius to appoint one hundred and twenty satraps to rule throughout his kingdom.
He chose three men as supervisors over those governors, and Daniel was one of the supervisors. The supervisors were to ensure that the governors did not try to cheat the king.
Over them would be three supervisors, one of whom was Daniel. These satraps were accountable to them, so that the king’s interests might not incur damage.
He placed three leaders over them. One of the leaders was Daniel. The royal rulers were made accountable to the three leaders. Then the king wouldn’t lose any of his wealth.

Over the officers he appointed 3 governors, including Daniel, and required each officer to report directly to them. This way the new king hoped not to lose any territories from his recent conquests or the revenue they provided.
and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one; that these local governors might give account to them, and that the king should suffer no loss.
And over them he ordained three princes, of which Daniel was one; that the dukes should yield reason to them, and that the king should not suffer any dis-ease. (And over them he ordained three princes, of whom Daniel was one; so that the governors could report to them, and so that the king need not suffer any distress.)
and higher than they three presidents, of whom Daniel [is] first, that these satraps may give to them an account, and the king have no loss.
