“And it came to pass that, as I made my journey and had come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and drew nigh unto Damascus, about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
“But as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a great blaze of light suddenly flashed from heaven and shone around me.
But as I was on my journey and approached Damascus, about noon a great blaze of light flashed suddenly from heaven and shone about me.
And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
“As I was traveling and approaching Damascus, about noon an intense light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“During that journey, about noon, as I approached Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven encircled me.
“As I was traveling and approaching Dammesek, around noon, suddenly a brilliant light from heaven flashed all around me!
One day about noon I was getting close to Damascus, when a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
And it came to pass, as I was journeying and drawing near to Damascus, that, about mid-day, there suddenly shone out of heaven a great light round about me.
“But it came about in my proceeding and drawing-near to Damascus about mid-day, that suddenly a great light from heaven flashed around me.
And it came to pass, as I was going, and drawing nigh to Damascus at midday, that suddenly from heaven there shone round about me a great light:
“But something happened to me on my way to Damascus. It was about noon when I came close to Damascus. Suddenly a bright light from heaven shined all around me.
Paul continued to say, ‘As I was travelling, I came near to Damascus. About midday, a bright light from the sky suddenly shone round me.
“While I was on the way and approaching Damascus, about noon a very bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“As I was on my way and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone around me.
“As I was on my way and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone around me.
“About noon when I came near Damascus, a bright light from heaven suddenly ·flashed [shone] all around me.
¶ And so it was, as I journeyed, and was come near unto Damascus about noon, that suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
“But as I was on my way and approaching the city of Damascus about noon, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“As I was traveling and coming near Damascus, about midday a bright light from the sky flashed suddenly around me.
“As I was traveling and near Damascus, about noon an intense light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“But something happened to me on my way to Damascus. It was about noon when I came near Damascus. Suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed all around me.
“But while I was on my way and approaching Damascus about noon, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“I myself am a Jew,” Paul went on. “I was born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but I was brought up here in the city, I received my training at the feet of Gamaliel and I was schooled in the strictest observance of our father’s Law. I was as much on fire with zeal for God as you all are today. I am also the man who persecuted this way to the death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, as the High Priest and the whole council can readily testify. Indeed, it was after receiving letters from them to their brothers in Damascus that I was on my way to that city, intending to arrest any followers of the way I could find there and bring them back to Jerusalem for punishment. Then this happened to me. As I was on my journey and getting near to Damascus, about midday a great light from Heaven suddenly blazed around me. I fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ I replied, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth whom you are persecuting.’ My companions naturally saw the light, but they did not hear the voice of the one who was talking to me. ‘What am I to do Lord?’ I asked. And the Lord told me, ‘Get up and go to Damascus and there you will be told of all that has been determined for you to do.’ I was blinded by the brightness of the light and my companions had to take me by the hand as we went on to Damascus. There, there was a man called Ananias, a reverent observer of the Law and a man highly respected by all the Jews who lived there. He came to visit me and as he stood by my side said, ‘Saul, brother, you may see again!’ At once I regained my sight and looked up to him. ‘The God of our fathers,’ he went on, ‘has chosen you to know his will, to see the righteous one, to hear words from his own lips, so that you may become his witness before all men of what you have seen and heard. And now what are you waiting for? Get up and be baptised! Be clean from your sins as you call on his name.’

“As I was on the road, nearing Damascus, suddenly about noon a very bright light from heaven shone around me.
“As I arrived on the outskirts of Damascus about noon, a blinding light blazed out of the skies and I fell to the ground, dazed. I heard a voice: ‘Saul, Saul, why are you out to get me?’
“As I journeyed and came near Damascus, about noon suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.

“But as I was on my way and approaching the city of Damascus about noon, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“On that journey as I drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from the sky suddenly shone around me.
“But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus at about noon, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me,
“But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me,
“While I was on my way and drawing near Damascus, around midday a great light from the sky suddenly shone all around me.
“About noon when I came near Damascus, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed all around me.
As I was en route and near Damascus, about noon a very bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“I had almost reached Damascus. About noon a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around me.
“About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me.
‘About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me.
“Now it happened, as I journeyed and came near Damascus at about noon, suddenly a great light from heaven shone around me.
“I was near Damascus. All at once, about noon, I saw a bright light from heaven shining around me.
“As I was on the road, approaching Damascus about noon, a very bright light from heaven suddenly shone down around me.
But it came to pass, as I made my journey and had come near to Damascus about noon, that suddenly a great light from heaven shone round about me.
‘While I was on my way and approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
‘While I was on my way and approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
“While I was on my way and approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
“While I was on my way and approaching Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
“Just as I was on the way, and getting near to Damascus, suddenly a bright light shone from heaven all around me. It was about midday.
"And it happened to me while traveling and drawing near to Damascus, lav davka (approximately) noon, suddenly from Shomayim, a very bright ohr (light) shone around me;
“And so it was as I journeyed and had come near to Damascus (about noon) that suddenly a great light from Heaven shone all around me.
“As I made my journey and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
“As I made my journey and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me.
“But it happened that as I was traveling and drawing near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly flashed all around me.
I was on my way to Damascus. It was about noon. Suddenly a powerful light shone around me,
As I made my journey, and came close to Damascus, about noon, suddenly a great light shone around me from the sky.
`I was on my way and was near Damascus. It was about midday. All at once a very bright light from the sky shone all around me.
And it was done, while I went, and approached to Damascus, at midday suddenly from heaven a great plenty of light shone about me. [Forsooth it was done, while I went and nighed to Damascus, in the midday suddenly from heaven a copious light shone about me.]
and it came to pass, in my going on and coming nigh to Damascus, about noon, suddenly out of the heaven there shone a great light round about me,
