Acts 21:38
Art not thou that Egyptian who prior to these days madest an uproar and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men who were murderers?”
Art thou not then the Egyptian, who before these days stirred up to sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?
Then you are not [as I assumed] the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a rebellion and led those 4,000 men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
Are you not then [as I supposed] the Egyptian who not long ago stirred up a rebellion and led those 4,000 men who were cutthroats out into the wilderness (desert)?
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists into the desert some time ago?”
Say, aren’t you that Egyptian who tried to start a revolution a while back, and led four thousand armed terrorists out into the desert?”
“Aren’t you that Egyptian who started a riot not long ago and led four thousand terrorists into the desert?”
Thou art not then that Egyptian who before these days raised a sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the assassins?
Then are you not the Egyptian— the one before these days having caused-an-upset and led out into the wilderness the four-thousand men of the Assassins?”
Art not thou that Egyptian who before these days didst raise a tumult, and didst lead forth into the desert four thousand men that were murderers?
Then you are not the man I thought you were. I thought you were the Egyptian who started some trouble against the government not long ago and led four thousand terrorists out to the desert.”
Are you not the Egyptian, then, who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
Are you not the Egyptian, then, who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
·I thought you were [L Are you not…?] the Egyptian who started ·some trouble against the government [a revolt; an insurrection] ·not long ago [or some time ago; C according to the Jewish historian Josephus, the event occurred about three years prior to this] and led four thousand ·killers [terrorists; cut-throats; L of the sicarii; C Josephus identifies sicarii (“dagger-men”) as assassins who mingled with crowds and used daggers to murder Romans and their collaborators] out to the desert.”
Art not thou the Egyptian who before these days raised a sedition, and led out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolution not long ago and led four thousand terrorists into the desert?”
“Then you are not that Egyptian fellow who some time ago started a revolution and led four thousand armed terrorists out into the desert?”
Aren’t you the Egyptian who raised a rebellion some time ago and led 4,000 Assassins into the wilderness?”
I thought you were the Egyptian who started some trouble against the government not long ago. He led 4,000 killers out to the desert.”
You’re not the Egyptian who started a revolt some time ago and led 4,000 assassins into the desert, are you?”
“So you know Greek, do you?” the colonel replied. “Aren’t you that Egyptian who not long ago raised a riot and led those four thousand assassins into the desert?
Art not thou that Egyptian, who before these days made an uproar and led four thousand men out into the wilderness that were murderers?
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
Then you are not the Egyptian who before these days raised a revolt and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?”
As Paul was about to be taken inside, he said to the commander, “May I have a word with you?” “Do you know Greek?” the commander asked, surprised. “Aren’t you that Egyptian who led a rebellion a few years ago and took 4,000 members of the Assassins with him into the desert?”
When they got to the barracks and were about to go in, Paul said to the captain, “Can I say something to you?” He answered, “Oh, I didn’t know you spoke Greek. I thought you were the Egyptian who not long ago started a riot here, and then hid out in the desert with his four thousand thugs.”
Are you not the Egyptian who in past days caused an uproar and led the four thousand men of the Sicarii out into the wilderness?”
Then you are not the Egyptian who prior to these · days stirred up a revolt and led into the desert the four thousand men of the Assassins?”
Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolution not long ago and led four thousand terrorists into the desert?”
So then you are not the Egyptian who started a revolt some time ago and led the four thousand assassins into the desert?”
Then you are not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
I thought you were the Egyptian who started some trouble against the government not long ago and led four thousand killers out to the desert.”
Then you’re not that Egyptian who started a rebellion and led the four thousand men of the ‘Assassins’ into the wilderness some time ago?”
“Aren’t you the Egyptian who turned some of our people against their leaders? Didn’t you lead 4,000 terrorists out into the desert some time ago?”
“Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists out into the wilderness some time ago?”
‘Aren’t you the Egyptian who started a revolt and led four thousand terrorists out into the wilderness some time ago?’
Are you not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a rebellion and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?”
Are you not the man from the country of Egypt who made trouble against our country? That man led 4,000 fighting men into the desert.”
“Aren’t you the Egyptian who led a rebellion some time ago and took 4,000 members of the Assassins out into the desert?”
Then you are not the Egyptian who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?”
Then you are not the Egyptian who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?’
Then you are not the Egyptian who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?’
Then you are not the Egyptian who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?”
"Then you are not the Egyptian who recently stirred up an intifada and led out four thousand assassins into the wilderness?"
Are you not the Egyptian, then, who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
Are you not the Egyptian, then, who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?”
Then you’re not the Egyptian who stirred up a rebellion some time ago—and led four thousand men of the Assassins out into the desert?”
We thought you were that Egyptian who recently stirred a rebellion and led 4,000 assassins out into the desert. But if you speak Greek, then obviously you’re not the person we supposed.
Aren’t you then the Egyptian, who before these days stirred up to sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the Assassins?”
ust as the soldiers were going to take Paul into their army house, he said to the officer, `May I tell you something?' `So, you speak the Greek language!' said the officer. `I thought you were the man from the country of Egypt who made trouble a while ago. I thought you were the one who led four thousand bad men into the desert.'
Whether thou art not the Egyptian, which before these days movedest a noise, and leddest out into desert four thousand of men, menslayers?
art not thou, then, the Egyptian who before these days made an uprising, and did lead into the desert the four thousand men of the assassins?'
