2 Corinthians 13:9
For we are glad when we are weak and ye are strong. And this also we wish: even your perfection.
For we rejoice, when we are weak, and ye are strong: this we also pray for, even your perfecting.
We are glad when we are weak [since God’s power comes freely through us], but you [by comparison] are strong. We also pray for this, that you be made complete [fully restored, growing and maturing in godly character and spirit—pleasing your heavenly Father by the life you live].
For we are glad when we are weak (unapproved) and you are really strong. And this we also pray for: your all-round strengthening and perfecting of soul.
For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
We are happy when we are weak but you are strong. We pray for this: that you will be made complete.
So we rejoice whenever we are weak and you are strong; indeed, what we pray for is that you become perfect.
Even though we are weak, we are glad that you are strong, and we pray that you will do even better.
For we rejoice when *we* may be weak and *ye* may be powerful. But this also we pray for, your perfecting.
For we are rejoicing whenever we are weak but you are strong. This also we are praying— your restoration.

We are glad when we are weak and you are strong. That is what we are praying for—your maturity.
We are glad to be weak if it means that you are strong. Our ambition for you is true Christian maturity. Hence the tone of this letter, so that when I do come I shall not be obliged to use that power of severity which God has given me—though even that is not meant to break you down but to build you up.
By which we are glad that we are weak and ye are strong, and even so we pray for your perfection.
For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong, and we pray for this: your maturity.
We are glad to be weak and despised if you are really strong. Our greatest wish and prayer is that you will become mature Christians.
Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it. I hope the test won’t show that we have failed. But if it comes to that, we’d rather the test showed our failure than yours. We’re rooting for the truth to win out in you. We couldn’t possibly do otherwise. We don’t just put up with our limitations; we celebrate them, and then go on to celebrate every strength, every triumph of the truth in you. We pray hard that it will all come together in your lives.
For we are glad when we are weak, and you are strong. We wish even your perfection.
