Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought gifts. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.
Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.
Then David put military outposts among the Arameans in Damascus; and the Arameans became David’s servants and brought tribute. Thus the Lord helped David wherever he went.
Then David put garrisons in Syria, [whose capital was] Damascus; the Syrians became David’s servants and brought tribute. Thus the Lord preserved and gave victory to David wherever he went.
Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought gifts. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.
Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became David’s subjects and brought tribute. The Lord made David victorious wherever he went.
David stationed soldiers in Aram of Damascus, enslaved them, and required payment. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.
Then David put [garrisons] among the people of Aram in Dammesek; Aram became subject to David and paid tribute. Adonai gave victory to David wherever he went.
Then David stationed some of his troops in Damascus, and the people there had to accept David as their ruler and pay taxes to him. Everywhere David went, the Lord helped him win battles.
And David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, [and] brought gifts. And Jehovah preserved David whithersoever he went.
And he put a garrison in Damascus, that Syria also should serve him, and bring gifts. And the Lord assisted him in all things to which he went.
Then David put fortresses in the city of Damascus in Aram. The Arameans became David’s servants and brought tribute to him. So the Lord gave victory to David everywhere he went.
David put some of his soldiers in Damascus to keep his authority over the Syrian people. They had to pay taxes to King David. The Lord helped David to win all the battles that he fought.

And David put a garrison in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramites became David’s servants, and brought gifts: and the Lord preserved David wheresoever he went.
David put troops in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became his subjects and paid taxes ⌞to him⌟. Everywhere David went, the Lord gave him victories.
Then he set up military camps in their territory, and they became his subjects and paid taxes to him. The Lord made David victorious everywhere.

then he placed a garrison of his troops in Damascus, the Syrian capital. So the Syrians, too, were forced to send him large amounts of money every year. And the Lord gave David victory everywhere he went.
When the Arameans from Damascus came to the aid of Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand of them. David set up a puppet government in Aram-Damascus. The Arameans became subjects of David and were forced to bring tribute. God gave victory to David wherever he marched.

and David set knights in Damascus, that (the) Syrians also should serve him, and bring to him gifts. And the Lord helped David in all things to which he went. (and David put horsemen, or garrisons, in Damascus, so that the Syrians would also serve him, and bring him gifts/and pay him taxes, or tribute. And so the Lord helped David in everything that he did.)
and David putteth [garrisons] in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans are to David for servants, bearing a present, and Jehovah giveth salvation to David whithersoever he hath gone.
