1 Timothy 1:6
from which some have swerved and have turned aside unto vain jangling,
from which things some having swerved have turned aside unto vain talking;
Some individuals have wandered away from these things into empty arguments and useless discussions,
But certain individuals have missed the mark on this very matter [and] have wandered away into vain arguments and discussions and purposeless talk.
From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
Because they missed this goal, some people have been distracted by talk that doesn’t mean anything.
Some, by aiming amiss, have wandered off into fruitless discussion.
There are some who have given up these for nothing but empty talk.
which [things] some having missed, have turned aside to vain discourse,
having departed from which things some turned-aside into worthless-talk—
From which things some going astray, are turned aside unto vain babbling:
But some have missed this key point in their teaching and have gone off in another direction. Now they talk about things that help no one.
Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,
Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion,
Some people have ·missed [departed/deviated from] these things and turned to ·useless talk [empty/meaningless/foolish discussion].
From the which things some have erred, and have turned unto vain jangling.
Some people have left these qualities behind and have turned to useless discussions.
Some people have turned away from these and have lost their way in foolish discussions.
Some have deviated from these and turned aside to fruitless discussion.
Some people have wandered away from these things. They talk about things that are worth nothing.
Some people have left these qualities behind and have turned to fruitless discussion.
The ultimate aim of the Christian minister is to produce the love which springs from a pure heart, a good conscience and a genuine faith. Some seem to have forgotten this and to have lost themselves in endless words. They want a reputation as teachers of the Law, yet they fail to realise the meaning of their own words, still less of the subject they are so dogmatic about.
from which some, having swerved, have turned aside unto vanity of words,
From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
from which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
from which some have deviated, and have turned away into fruitless discussion,
But these teachers have missed this whole idea and spend their time arguing and talking foolishness.
The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love—love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God. Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip. They set themselves up as experts on religious issues, but haven’t the remotest idea of what they’re holding forth with such imposing eloquence.
From this, some have lost their way and turned aside to empty talk,
Some, having fallen short of these things, have wandered away into senseless babble,
Some people have left these qualities behind and have turned to useless discussions.
Some people have deviated from these and turned to meaningless talk,
For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,
Some people have missed these things and turned to useless talk.
Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion.
Some have turned from these teachings. They would rather talk about things that have no meaning.
Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.
Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.
from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,
But some have turned away from these things. They have turned to foolish talking.
But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions.
Some people have deviated from these and turned to meaningless talk,
Some people have deviated from these and turned to meaningless talk,
Some people have deviated from these and turned to meaningless talk,
Some people have deviated from these and turned to meaningless talk,
Some people [1:3] have missed the mark and deviated from these things to hevel (vanity), to divrei havohu (words of emptiness).
Certain persons by swerving from these have wandered away into vain discussion,
Certain persons by swerving from these have wandered away into vain discussion,
Some, having missed the mark, have turned away to fruitless discussion—
Yes, some have walked away from these traits and have fallen into a life of endless blabber and nonsense—
from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to vain talking;
Some teachers have not tried to do these things and so they talk about things that do no good.
From which things some men have erred, and be turned into vain speech; [From which things some erring, be turned together into vain speech;]
from which certain, having swerved, did turn aside to vain discourse,
