He removed all pollution from it and settled people there who observed the Law. He also strengthened its defenses and built a house for himself there.
And having cast out of it all uncleanness, he placed in it men that should observe the law: and he fortified it, and made it his habitation.
He eliminated everything that would make the town ritually unclean and settled it with people who would obey every command contained in the Law of Moses. He strengthened the defenses of the town and built himself a palace there.
