1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep control of my body, and bring it into subjection, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
But [like a boxer] I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached [the gospel] to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified [as unfit for service].
But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Rather, I’m landing punches on my own body and subduing it like a slave. I do this to be sure that I myself won’t be disqualified after preaching to others.
I treat my body hard and make it my slave so that, after proclaiming the Good News to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
I keep my body under control and make it my slave, so I won’t lose out after telling the good news to others.
But I buffet my body, and lead it captive, lest [after] having preached to others I should be myself rejected.
But I bruise my body and make it my slave, that having proclaimed to others, I myself should not somehow become disapproved.
But I chastise my body, and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.
It is my own body I fight to make it do what I want. I do this so that I won’t miss getting the prize myself after telling others about it.
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
I ·treat my body hard [discipline/subdue/pummel my body] and ·make it my slave [subdue it] so that I myself will not be disqualified after I have preached to others.
But I beat down my body, and bring it into subjection, lest by any means after that I have preached to others, I myself should be reproved.
Rather, I toughen my body with punches and make it my slave so that I will not be disqualified after I have spread the Good News to others.
I harden my body with blows and bring it under complete control, to keep myself from being disqualified after having called others to the contest.
Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
It is my own body that I hit. I make it my slave. I do this so that I myself will not be rejected after I have preached to others.
No, I keep on disciplining my body, making it serve me so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified.
I run the race then with determination. I am no shadow-boxer, I really fight! I am my body’s sternest master, for fear that when I have preached to others I should myself be disqualified.
but I keep my body under, and bring it into subjection, lest preaching to others, I myself should become reprobate.
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
But I discipline my body and subjugate it, lest somehow after preaching to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Like an athlete I punish my body, treating it roughly, training it to do what it should, not what it wants to. Otherwise I fear that after enlisting others for the race, I myself might be declared unfit and ordered to stand aside.
I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.
But I bring and keep my body under subjection, lest when preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
But I discipline my · body and bring it into subjection, so that having preached to others I myself should not be disqualified.
Rather, I toughen my body with punches and make it my slave so that I will not be disqualified after I have spread the Good News to others.
No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
I treat my body hard and make it my slave so that I myself will not be disqualified after I have preached to others.
Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified.
No, I train my body and bring it under control. Then after I have preached to others, I myself will not break the rules. If I did break them, I would fail to win the prize.
No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
I keep working over my body. I make it obey me. I do this because I am afraid that after I have preached the Good News to others, I myself might be put aside.
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
But I do more than merely spar with my basar; I pommel it and keep it under strict subjection, so that after I am the maggid to others, I myself will not become declared ineligible.
but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
Rather, I punish my body and bring it into submission, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
I discipline my body and make it my slave so that after all this, after I have brought the gospel to others, I will still be qualified to win the prize.
but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
But I control my own body really well. I make my body obey me. After telling others the good news, I myself do not want to be left out.
but I chastise my body, and bring it into servage; lest peradventure when I preach to others [lest peradventure when I have preached to others], I myself be made reprovable.
but I chastise my body, and bring [it] into servitude, lest by any means, having preached to others -- I myself may become disapproved.
