1 Corinthians 9:26
I therefore so run, but not with uncertainty; I so fight, but not as one that beateth the air.
I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air:
Therefore I do not run without a definite goal; I do not flail around like one beating the air [just shadow boxing].
Therefore I do not run uncertainly (without definite aim). I do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
So I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one beating the air.
So now this is how I run—not without a clear goal in sight. I fight like a boxer in the ring, not like someone who is shadowboxing.
Accordingly, I don’t run aimlessly but straight for the finish line; I don’t shadow-box but try to make every punch count.
I don't run without a goal. And I don't box by beating my fists in the air.
*I* therefore thus run, as not uncertainly; so I combat, as not beating the air.
So-indeed I run in this manner, as not aimlessly. I box in this manner, as not beating the air.
I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air:
So I run like someone who has a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something, not just the air.
Because of that, I do not run with no purpose. I do not fight like someone who only hits the air.
That is why there is nothing aimless about the way I run. There is no pummeling of the air in the way I box.
So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.
So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.
So I do not run ·without a goal [aimlessly]. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something—not just the air.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly: so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.
So I run—but not without a clear goal ahead of me. So I box—but not as if I were just shadow boxing.
That is why I run straight for the finish line; that is why I am like a boxer who does not waste his punches.
Therefore I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one beating the air.
So I do not run without a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something—not just the air.
That is the way I run, with a clear goal in mind. That is the way I fight, not like someone shadow boxing.
I run the race then with determination. I am no shadow-boxer, I really fight! I am my body’s sternest master, for fear that when I have preached to others I should myself be disqualified.
I therefore so run, not as unto an uncertain thing; so I fight, not as one that beats the air;

Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air;

So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I fight to win. I’m not just shadow-boxing or playing around.
I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No lazy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself. * * *
So, therefore, I run, not with uncertainty. So I fight, not as one who beats the air.
So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box like one flailing the air.
So I run—but not without a clear goal ahead of me. So I box—but not as if I were just shadow boxing.
Thus I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing.
Therefore I run in such a way as not to run aimlessly; I box in such a way, as to avoid hitting air;
Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air;
Therefore, I do not run without purpose, nor do I fight like a man beating the air.
So I do not run without a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something—not just the air.
So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.
So I do not run like someone who doesn’t run toward the finish line. I do not fight like a boxer who hits nothing but air.
Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.
Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.
Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
In the same way, I run straight for the place at the end of the race. I fight to win. I do not beat the air.
So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.
I therefore run accordingly: not as at an uncertain thing. I fight accordingly: not as one who beats the air,
So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air;
So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air;
So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air;
So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air,
Well then: I don’t run in an aimless fashion! I don’t box like someone punching the air!
Therefore, I run not as one without a goal that is kovua (fixed, set). I box as not beating the air.
I, therefore, so run; not uncertainly. I so fight, and not as one who beats the air.
Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air;
Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air;
So I run in this way—not aimlessly. So I box in this way—not beating the air.
So I don’t run aimlessly. I don’t let my eyes drift off the finish line. When I box, I don’t throw punches in the air.
I therefore run like that, not aimlessly. I fight like that, not beating the air,
So I do not run as if I did not know where I was going. And I do not fight like a man just beating the air.
Therefore I run so, not as to an uncertain thing; thus I fight, not as beating the air;
I, therefore, thus run, not as uncertainly, thus I fight, as not beating air;
