1 Corinthians 3:1
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, as unto babes in Christ.
However, brothers and sisters, I could not talk to you as to spiritual people, but [only] as to worldly people [dominated by human nature], mere infants [in the new life] in Christ!
However, brethren, I could not talk to you as to spiritual [men], but as to nonspiritual [men of the flesh, in whom the carnal nature predominates], as to mere infants [in the new life] in Christ [unable to talk yet!]
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t talk to you like spiritual people but like unspiritual people, like babies in Christ.
As for me, brothers, I couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as worldly people, as babies, so far as experience with the Messiah is concerned.
My friends, you are acting like the people of this world. That’s why I could not speak to you as spiritual people. You are like babies as far as your faith in Christ is concerned.
And *I*, brethren, have not been able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly; as to babes in Christ.
And I, brothers, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual ones, but as to ones made-of-flesh, as to infants in Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal. As unto little ones in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, when I was there, I could not talk to you the way I talk to people who are led by the Spirit. I had to talk to you like ordinary people of the world. You were like babies in Christ.
But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, in the past I could not talk to you as I talk to ·spiritual people [or people who have the Spirit]. I had to talk to you as I would to ·people without the Spirit [unspiritual/carnal/fleshly people]—·babies [infants] in Christ.
1 He yieldeth a reason why he preached small matters unto them: 4 He showeth how they ought to esteem of Ministers: 6 The minister’s office. 10 A true form of edifying. 16 He warneth the Corinthians, that they be not drawn away to profane things, 18 through the proud wisdom of the flesh. And I could not speak unto you, brethren, as unto spiritual men, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as people still influenced by your corrupt nature. You were infants in your faith in Christ.
As a matter of fact, my friends, I could not talk to you as I talk to people who have the Spirit; I had to talk to you as though you belonged to this world, as children in the Christian faith.
Brothers, I was not able to speak to you as spiritual people but as people of the flesh, as babies in Christ.
Brothers, in the past I could not talk to you as I talk to spiritual people. I had to talk to you as I would to people of the world—babies in Christ.
Brothers, I couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as worldly people, as mere infants in the Messiah.
I, my brothers, was unable to talk to you as spiritual men: I had to talk to you as unspiritual, as yet babies in the Christian life, And my practice had been to feed you, as it were, with “milk” and not with “meat”. You were unable to digest “meat” in those days, and I don’t believe you can do it now. For you are still unspiritual; all the time that there is jealousy and squabbling among you you show that you are—you are living just like men of the world. While one of you says, “I am one of Paul’s converts” and another says, “I am one of Apollos’”, are you not plainly unspiritual?
¶ And I, brothers, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
And I, brothers, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual people, but as to fleshly people, as to infants in Christ.
Dear brothers, I have been talking to you as though you were still just babies in the Christian life who are not following the Lord but your own desires; I cannot talk to you as I would to healthy Christians who are filled with the Spirit.
But for right now, friends, I’m completely frustrated by your unspiritual dealings with each other and with God. You’re acting like infants in relation to Christ, capable of nothing much more than nursing at the breast. Well, then, I’ll nurse you since you don’t seem capable of anything more. As long as you grab for what makes you feel good or makes you look important, are you really much different than a babe at the breast, content only when everything’s going your way? When one of you says, “I’m on Paul’s side,” and another says, “I’m for Apollos,” aren’t you being totally infantile?
Brothers, I could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to worldly, even as to babes in Christ.
And so, brothers, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t talk to you as spiritual people but as people still influenced by your corrupt nature. You were infants in your faith in Christ.
Brothers, I could not talk to you as spiritual people, but as fleshly people, as infants in Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, in the past I could not talk to you as I talk to spiritual people. I had to talk to you as I would to people without the Spirit—babies in Christ.
So, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but instead as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t speak to you as people who live by the Holy Spirit. I had to speak to you as people who were still following the ways of the world. You aren’t growing as Christ wants you to. You are still like babies.
Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.
Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly – mere infants in Christ.
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
Christian brothers, I could not speak to you as to full-grown Christians. I spoke to you as men who have not obeyed the things you have been taught. I spoke to you as if you were baby Christians.
Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ.
And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.
Achim b’Moshiach, I was not able to speak to you as to men of hitkhadshut and ruchaniyut; I had to speak to you as bnei basar, as olalim b’Moshiach.
But I, brethren, could not address you as spiritual men, but as men of the flesh, as babes in Christ.
But I, brethren, could not address you as spiritual men, but as men of the flesh, as babes in Christ.
And I, brothers and sisters, could not speak to you as Spirit-filled but as worldly—as infants in Messiah.
My brothers and sisters, I cannot address you as people who walk by the Spirit; I have to speak to you as people who tend to think in merely human terms, as spiritual infants in the Anointed One.
Brothers, I couldn’t speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ.
My brothers, I could not talk to you at first as to people who have the Spirit of God. But I talked to you as people who have the spirit of this world. I talked to you as people who are very new-born, baby Christians.
And I, brethren, might not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to fleshly men [but as to fleshly]; as to little children in Christ,
And I, brethren, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly -- as to babes in Christ;
