3:1 Eliashib. He was the grandson of Jeshua, the High Priest during the days of Zerubbabel.
Sheep Gate. This gate was at the northeast corner of the city (cf. John 5:2). The description in the following verses moves counterclockwise until the Sheep Gate is mentioned again in v. 32.
Tower of the Hundred. This would have been somewhere on the north side, the side with the poorest natural defenses.
