I am Isaiah, the son of Amoz. And this is the message that I was given about Judah and Jerusalem when Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were the kings of Judah:

  1. King Sennacherib of Assyria Invades Judah

    (2 Chronicles 32.1-19; Isaiah 36.1-22)

    In the fourteenth year of Hezekiah's rule in Judah, King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded the country and captured every walled city, except Jerusalem.

  14. The Lord Is Still with Hezekiah

    (Isaiah 39.1-8)

    Merodach Baladan, the son of Baladan, was now king of Babylonia. And when he learned that Hezekiah had been sick, he sent messengers with letters and a gift for him.
  15. Isaiah asked Hezekiah, “Where did these men come from? What did they want?” “They came all the way from Babylonia,” Hezekiah answered.
  16. “What did you show them?” Isaiah asked. Hezekiah answered, “I showed them everything in my kingdom.”
  17. Then Isaiah told Hezekiah: I have a message for you from the Lord.
  18. Hezekiah thought, “At least our nation will be at peace for a while.” So he told Isaiah, “The message you brought me from the Lord is good.”

  20. King Sennacherib of Assyria Invades Judah

    (2 Kings 18.13-37; Isaiah 36.1-22)

    After King Hezekiah had faithfully obeyed the Lord's instructions by doing these things, King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded Judah. He attacked the fortified cities and thought he would capture every one of them.
