  10. But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, restitution must be made to the owner.
  11. “If anyone borrows an animal from their neighbor and it is injured or dies while the owner is not present, they must make restitution.
  12. “Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.
  13. Take some of the bull’s blood and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of it at the base of the altar.
  14. For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.
  15. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’”
  16. The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
  17. “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.
